Pass me the green ones hon, would you please?
Not the celery, much too light.
Not that moss, much too tight.
Not the mint, it won’t match with what I’m wearing.
Not the Jade either, it’s much too daring.
No, the pine, the hunter nor the apple will do.
Geesh! Not the Khaki! What’s wrong with you?!
Oh, I’m so not wearing the alpine,
I’ll not have folks think I’ve lost my mind!
No! Not the forest, not the teal, not the pea.
Just what are you trying to do to me?
The GREEN one! No, the green one right there!
I’m beginning to think, you just don’t care…
What’s the difference?! That’s lime not chartreuse!
What do you mean I have too many shoes?

No, I do not have any shoes in the above colors (yet). 😀

Yikes! My wife, Sherry is a shoe-nut! Very fun poem. Nicely done!
That’s why Carrie Bradshaw stayed single for so long!
Fun and sassy 🙂
lovely humor, well done.
enjoy the rally.
That was really pretty cool. Love the use of all the variations and how you played off each in a comedic tone. Very well done:)
Haha this is so cute. I have one pair of dress shoes and my husband insists I can’t need more than that considering I can’t walk in them anyways he likely has a point lol
Really enjoyed reading this! Very fun and playful. Reminds me of Ken Nordine, a bit. I especially love his spoken word on colors and their fictitious, corresponding personalities. If you haven’t heard of him, I think you’d like this stuff.
Really made my day! I was smiling all the way from my way to school from home.
Hehe shoes and green nonetheless. Great accompanying picture. Funny poem.
Thanks every one! I’m glad you all have enjoyed my bout of verdant silliness. :p
What a fun post … lifted my spirits … I am a rehabbing “shoe-holic”!! 😀
Hilarious! Loved it. 😀
Picky, picky, picky, as I trickled through your closet, enjoying every rejection…since I too do not have many shoes 🙂 This was a delightful read for me after putting pencil down. Thank you for the tongue and cheek smile.
That was funny, women and their shoes 🙂
Fun, this one made me smile!
This is a lot of fun! Think about Dorothy’s one pair of Ruby slippers–kind of a complimentary color!
I’m always pleased when I come across a poem on a not-so-serious topic. Some people take writing sooooo seriously.
Hahaha, bought a smile to my eye and a laugh to my lip. What more need be said?
The Lonely Recluse.
Thanks Beca, Ravenblack, ZQ, ALIVE A, Thoughts and Miriam, it was not my footwear, but it was my pleasure.
Virtual – I so agree. As much as I enjoy “Jabberwocky”, even that seems like too much work to compose. Simple laughs are best.
Oh! A smile, aye, a laugh!! From the Recluse, nonetheless? A most gracious bestowing indeed!
Much thanks again all!
you amaze me, well done, perfect poet indeed.
🙂
Thank you so very much for the nomination.
The Lonely Recluse.
First time I see the different shades of green in one single setting. Quirky and cool, thoroughly enjoying it:) Thanks for sharing 🙂
not just too many shoes, but too many green shoes
stripper limerick
Ha….you had fun with this…so many shades of green..one can lose their mind with an obsession…..Imelda Marcos would love them!

haha…yeah…green is def. not just green when it comes to shoes..it’s the shades that make them fit or not…ha..made me smile
