We trailed
Upstream where
The fireflies were
Fireworks in the new moonlight
And the riverbank shimmered its reflection to us
Water lapping at the shoreline
We sat unafraid
Yet nervous
As some
Thing
Changed
Changed
Beneath
The scent of
Sweet honeysuckle
Wafting in the indigo skies
Where something that was once lukewarm in the sultry day
Became more in the soft nightfall
And with one sweet look
You and I
Were now
