The
Blue skies and
Warm colors belie
The first hint of autumn days.
Pause.
Stop.
Acquire
A quiet moment.
Life encourages this soft
Path.
Time
Will again
Invoke its magic.
Next dash of eternity –
Poof!
Wallow in
A chance to marvel
The ebb and flow of breeze; be
Touched.
Give
This its due
What will be – will be
Change is the only constant,
Breathe.

Today’s form is a Crown Oddquain
Tonight Linda tends bar at dVerse where on this day 58 years ago The Rolling Stones released “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” and tonight happens to be Open Link Night.
dVerse Poets Pub| Open Link Night : On This Day

This is so beautiful, enlightening and tranquil. I love it!
Thank you, Lucy.
Very calming and convincing. I took a slow breath at the end.
Thank you, that’s the spirit.
I like the final words of the first and last stanza. Pause. Breathe. YES!
Simple truths are simple. Thank you.
Oh, you KNOW I’ll be playing with this form for some time to come. Thanks for the link & especially for the SUPERBLY WRITTEN introduction.
Why thank you, Ron. Enjoy! I look forward to what you come up with for the form.
So true that change is the only thing that is constant. But that makes one wonder if anything constant really exists or if change is somehow not a difference.
For the outer changes as people, we as humans have not changed much at our cores. Good questions Stine. Thank you.
The Crown Oddquain is new to me and I really must try it. I love the delicate sounds of your poem, the use of plosives and long vowels, which give it breath. Autumn is my favourite season and I especially enjoy the early autumn days.
Thanks Kim881. autumn is also my favorite season. We’re almost there!
An interesting form which you manage wit such elegant use of words.
Thank you, navasolanature.
I like your injunctions to stop, take stock, listen, pause. We do too little of that, in our relentless pursuit of novelty.
Thank you, Jane. The new and novel is fleeting, but even a moment’s peace has long lasting effects.
There’s often a lot more to be learned from a few moments contemplation that hours spent staring passively at other people doing things.
Your words filled me with such a sense of peace.
Thank you, Linda, enjoy the peace.
This is filled with such calm and tranquility! Yes, change is the only constant 💝
Thank you, Sanaa.
Feels like a mantra and meditation exercise. The shape feels like slow, deep breathing. Nicely done.
“The shape feels like slow, deep breathing.” I like that! Thank you, msjadeli.
You’re welcome 🙂
Oh there is nothing more important than to catch those moments…
So true, thanks Björn.
A lovely message. Thank you. Sorry for my late comment.
Thank you, Merril. No such thing as a late comment when it comes to poetry.
