I hear Mama calling me,
As I stand here by the sea
The tides lap at me mockingly,
They flow and ebb and go so free.
The seashells call Come look. Come see.
They know here’s where I want to be.
The sand squishes between my toes
Locking me there because it knows,
Though I’m still held within its throes
The time grows nigh before I goes.
Though I hear Mama calling me,
I still stand here by the sea
How was this love aquatic cast?
Was I a mermaid in lives past?
I step in more, to make it last,
For it lulls me, these waters vast.
Slowly the sun starts its descent
Bright seas turn dark in increments,
Giving me more now to lament
And finally I do relent.
For I hear Mama calling me,
As I stand here by the sea.
The time has come to let it be.

Raivenne — I LOVE LOVE this ….
The sea is one of my respites and holds much mystery in my thoughts, and stirs many emotions.
🙂
Ahhh… the calling. It has a magic all of its own, doesn’t it. Beautiful imagery.
Very nice…I felt the pull of the sea…but also the sadness, like she is finally letting go (of life) ~
Happy day to you ~
I took this literally, as the letting go of a deceased mother, until I read Heaven@asweetlust directly above. I’m still not sure which is intended.
Becca / DayDreamerToo – Yes, every time I’m near oceans, seas, lakes – I’m entranced.
Heaven and Bob – Interesting takes. I can see both views now that the thoughts are out there.
Thanks all.
