I
like
the
feel of
the rain
upon my face.
A thousand drops
of water from outer
space. Everyone says
I’m just getting wet. To me
it is the best feeling I have
come across yet. Falling
just hard enough to
be felt; caressing me
with its gentle
pelt.

well done !!

nice…great concrete form…and i love being out in the rain feeling it on my skin as i jump in the puddles so i know just what you are saying…
I like that drop of water “gentle pelt” ~
Nice form too ~
Whoo hoo…a poet after my own heart! I adore shape poetry and this is perfect. A raindrop…sooooooo cool. You just made my day 🙂
That’s so creative to write your poem in the shape of a rain drop. Great imagery too.
Great poem. The line breaks really work. A lot of times shape poems seem forced into the form.
Love the image of the rain as a pelt–and the well-shaped drop it was delivered in. Very nice.
sings; i can’t stand the rain…against my window oh…
😉
I love the rain this time, cos your concrete poem is such a delight.
This shape is inventive and harnesses the strength of the words it really works – love its relevant allusion….really enjoyed this poem
Ahhh… you put your words into a drop. It flowed nicely.
Sometimes words just “drop” unto the page and take shape. This was one of them.
* giggles * @ Coalbalck – I knew someone was going to hum that tune.;)
Thanks to all, for your wonderful comments.
