An amigo, a second hand,
Someone who will understand
These windmills that turn in his mind
Whose malevolence only he finds
Never will I understand you see
How such epitomizes me
I have rode by his side
Through thin, through thick
Oh he has hit, he has cursed me
But never once did he kick

The rules of the Flash 55 challenge are simple. Write a piece of poetry or prose on a subject of your choice in precisely 55 WORDS. For the optional extra part of this month’s challenge, consider writing about The Classics in whichever form appeals: Novels, Music, Art.
For my Flash 55, I chose the ever hapless Sancho Panza pondering the modern phrase for his role in Don Quixote’s life.
As I also wrote it in silly prose, I add it to the list for NaPoWriMo.
National Poetry Writing Month Day 3
Love the image of windmills in his mind…like turning with the whims of the breezes…Great insight into two characters…
I like the whole thing, but particularly the image of windmills turning in ones mind
Oh, that last line made me laugh out loud! Thanks for joining in the Flash 55.
I picture this fellow on a donkey for some reason 🙂 I especially like the lines “Never will I understand you see
How such epitomizes me” Perhaps it’s I who rides the donkey 🙂 Enjoyed
I love this!
Dear Sancho, what a treasure he was indeed.
I really enjoyed this–I’m glad Sancho has found a voice. Thanks. k.
Nice take on the Don Quixote.
Much love…
Ah, well done!
It is tough to be a sidekick….Sancho Panza was certainly loyal
