They’ve always said the answers will come for all I’ve pled
They’ve always said that all I’ve hungered for will be fed
That all I have to do is reach out and believe
But I laughed them off feeling greatly misled
They’ve always said I’d never be alone, faith would be my homestead
They’ve always said I would feel alive after years of feeling dead
So I opened my heart and touched a sleeve
Now I believe the things they’ve always said

Great rythm an lovely rhymes.. The repetitions serve a purpose. Really like it 🙂
sometimes it takes our own experience of faith in order for us to see and understnd…that is a wonderful story as well…the woman with the blood issue is the one that came to mind…
Such an inspiring message on the journey of faith. Thanks for sharing your poem~Happy OLN fellow poet.
I like the turn in the second stanza ~ Faith must be experienced, touched “our sleeve” so we will believe ~
Beautifully said–I can totally relate
Concise and rhymed – capturing an essence of faith and belief!
I love it! Sometimes, even “they” get it right.
Beautiful write, Raivenne!
That moment when faith becomes real is so intense!
